Problem
The coffee from my Philips Coffee
Maker is not hot enough.
Solution
If you find that the coffee from your Philips Coffee Maker is
not hot enough, find below tips on how you can fix this.
Using glass jug
If you are using a glass jug, you can try the tips below on
how to keep your coffee temperature hot:
• Make sure the glass jug is placed on the hotplate
properly
• Make sure the hotplate and the bottom of the jug are
clean
• Use thin cups. Thin cups will absorb less heat from the
coffee than thicker cups
• Make sure the size of the cup matches the amount of
coffee. Do not pour a small amount of coffee into a
large cup.
• If you drink coffee with fresh milk, pre-heat the milk in
the cup in a microwave.
• Descale your coffee maker regularly.
Using insulated jug
If you are using an insulated jug, you can try the tips below
on how to keep your coffee temperature hot:
• Pre-heat the jug by rinsing it with hot water before
brewing
• Make full jug of coffee
• Use thin cups. Thin cups will absorb less heat from the
coffee than thicker cups
• Make sure the size of the cup matches the amount of
coffee. Do not pour a small amount of coffee into a
large cup.
• If you drink coffee with fresh milk, pre-heat the milk in
the cup in a microwave.
• Descale your coffee maker regularly.
The coffee maker does not shut down properly
Always press the on/off switch button to properly switch
off your coffee maker.
Letting the valve under the water tank to close before you
unplug the appliance from the wall socket or power off the
wall socket to prevent cold water running straight into the
filter on your next brew.
Make sure the coffee maker is plugged in to the wall
outlet before filling the tank
Before you fill the water tank with the required fresh cold
water, always make sure that the coffee marker is plugged
in to the wall outlet so that the valve under the water tank
is closed.

Let your Philips Coffee Maker shut off automatically in 40
minutes. The valve under the water tank will be closed.
