INSTALLATION (Fig. 3 — 8)
1.
Remove the unit from the bracket.
Connect each input lead coming from an amplifier and an equalizer to the corresponding
output lead coming from the left rear of the bracket, then slide the bracket into the dash-
board.
Install the metal mounting strap, supplied, by following the procedures shown in Fig. 3.
Fully insert the unit into the bracket and push the handle downward to lock the unit. To re-
move the unit, raise the handle to unlock the pins, and firmly pull the unit toward you, (Fig.
3). If handle is not easy to raise by hand, press the lever (A).
Note:
1.
2.
Secure the ground lead of the bracket to
aclean metal spot using a screw {*) already att-
ached to the car chassis (Fig. 4).
Always reinforce the installation of a removable head unit's bracket with the metal mount-
ing strap. Otherwise, after repeated removal and insertion of the unit, the bracket may be-
come loose in the dashboard.
Before operating the unit, make sure the handle is fully down as shown in Fig. 5. This is es-
pecially necessary in the case of excessive road vibration, rapid acceleration or vehicle col-
lision because the unit may come out of the bracket if it is not locked into place (Fig. 6). This
could result in personal injury to the occupants of the vehicle or physical damage to the unit.
Permanent Installation of QRB Unit
Remove the 18-pin plug cord from the bracket and connect it directly to the unit chassis, using
the optional accessory Model 4100 as shown in Fig. 7, with the screws and 2 spacers provided
(Fig. 8).
NOTE:
Be sure to connect the ground (black) iead to the unit chassis using the screw supplied.
