7.3.1. DUPLA Adapter (Only with TR 2002 CL2, TR 2002 CL3 and TR 2002 S CL3)
• Dismantle the valve cover by pushing the locking tabs by means of any suitable tool. Slide the covers outwards.
• Turn anticlockwise and remove the adaptor from the connector's bush.
7.3.2. Inner half mask (Fig.A pos.5)
Tear the mask by pulling it towards the outside. To replace it, reinsert it by fitting it onto the proper seat machined
into the body of the connector.
To replace valves remove them complete with seating and insert new valve assemblies.
7.3.3. Headharness (Fig.A pos. 3)
The head harness can be easily removed by stripping it off from the buckles.
The frontal buckle can be removed by sliding the retaining pin from its location the other four can be removed by
pushing out with the help of a punch the retaining metallic pins.
To reassemble the head harness let the strap tips slide into the buckle, taking care to keep the knurled side inwards.
The following are the interventions that cannot be performed by the user and that must necessarily be performed at
the manufacturer or authorized.
7.3.4. Visor
Unscrew the fixing screws of the visor clamp placed on the sides of the visor iteself. Remove the two ends of the clamp
and extract the visor from its seat. Insert a new visor in the appropriate seat. Reassemble the visor on the facepiece
by aligning the facepiece-visor references located in the lower part of the facepiece.
Prepare the clamping band, joining the two lower and upper half-bands by tightening the screws with just a couple of
turns. The band prepared in this way - having taken care to align the references placed on the band and on the
facepiece - is then put on the facepiece, after having wet the area where the band is housed with soap and water. This
allows for better sliding during the subsequent final tightening phase in which a tab is positioned to protect the
underlying rubber.
7.3.5. Connector assembly - Valves - Speech device
7.3.5.1. Inhalation valve and valve-holder gasket of connector group
Remove the rubber gasket/valve holder situated on the bottom of the connector. In this way, the inhalation valve can
be reached and easily removed. When reassembling, ensure that the valve is well inserted onto the special spindle
and that it can move freely. Insert then the gasket/valve holder in the bottom of connector in such a way that it holds
the valve in position and free to move.
WARNING: Whilst reassembling refer to the drawing and make sure to choose the valve holder suited to the specific
mask model. There are two similar holders which only differ in size (see Spare parts p/n).
7.3.5.2. Exhalation valve
The exhalation valve membrane can be replaced by following different procedures depending on the mask model.
TR 2002 CL2, TR 2002 CL3 and TR 2002 S CL3
The membrane can be replaced simply by removing the lower valve cover which holds the group and extracting the
valve from its seat. To replace it, re-insert the membrane onto the special stem.
TR 2002 A CL2, TR 2002 A CL3 and TR 2002 S A CL3
• Remove the valve cover.
• Remove by means of pliers the small bridge that keeps the valve assembly in place.
• Remove the positive pressure assembly.
• Remove the exhale membrane from the stem and, if necessary, remove the stem as well by pushing it outwards from
the inside of facepiece.
To reassemble proceed backwards.
TR 2002 BN CL2, TR 2002 BN CL3 and TR 2002 S BN CL3
• Remove the cover that blocks the connector. Take off the valve holder by operating on the clamping lever. Then take
off the pin and the spring which act as automatic device for the pressure regulation.
• Remove the positive pressure assembly.
• Remove the exhale membrane from the stem and, if necessary, remove the stem as well by pushing it outwards from
the inside of facepiece.
• To reassemble proceed backwards. Take special care in re-positioning the little pin and the spring: insert the spring
first around the little pin, then insert pin in the cover. While keeping the pin lifted slide covers in position. Do always
verify that pin be free to move.
7.3.5.3. Exhalation valve holder
The exhalation valve holder can also be dismantled and replaced. To do this, extract the valve holder and its o-ring.
To reassemble the unit, proceed in the reverse order, checking the conditions and exact positioning of the o-ring.
ATTENTION: When reassembling the valve holder, make sure to mount the correct one for the various models.
7.3.6. Speech device
The speech device capsule is replaced by unscrewing the tightening ring inside the mask with a round-pointed pliers
or a special wrench. During reassembly, pay attention that the sealing O-ring (placed between the sound engineer and
the filler unit) is present and in good condition and place the capsule with the rounded circular creasing facing the OR:
if the capsule is mounted upside down, it is impossible to screw the tightening nut back on.
7.4. Mask efficiency checks
At each re-assembly of the mask, after cleaning and before use after a period of long inactivity and every time that the
mask does not pass the tightness check according to par. 6.3, the mask efficiency must be checked.
