17.1 Troubleshooting the Blower and Battery
Fault LEDs on the
battery
The blower does 1 LED flashing
not start when green.

Remedy
► Charge battery as described in the User
Manual for chargers STIHL AL 101, 301,
301-4, 500.
► Remove the battery.
► Allow the battery to cool down or warm
up.
► Remove battery and reinsert it.
► Turn on blower.
► If 3 LEDs continue to flash red: Do not
use the blower and contact your STIHL
dealer for assistance.
► Remove the battery.
► Allow the blower to cool down.
► Remove battery and reinsert it.
► Switch on blower.
► If 4 LEDs continue to flash red: Do not
use the battery; contact a STIHL authori‐
zed dealer.
► Remove the battery.
► If the blower still does not start when tur‐
ned on: Clean the contacts of the con‐
nector as described in the user manual
for the STIHL AR L battery or in the
STIHL ADA 1000 double-battery com‐
partment adapter.
► Allow blower or battery to dry.
► Turn on the blower as described in this
user manual.
► Remove the battery.
► Allow the blower to cool down.
► Remove the battery and reinsert it.
► If the blower still does not start when tur‐
ned on: Clean the contacts of the con‐
nector as described in the user manual
for the STIHL AR L battery or in the
STIHL ADA 1000 double-battery com‐
partment adapter.
► Switch on the blower.
► Fully charge battery as described in the
User Manual for the STIHL AL 101, 301,
301-4, 500 chargers.
► Replace battery.
