Bar maintenance
The toothed wheel on top of the guide bar should be lubricated regularly. Proper care of the bar, as described
in this section, is essential to the quality of your chain saw.
To lubricate the chain sprocket, we recommend the use of a grease gun (not included).
To maintain the bar chain wheel:
1. Turn off tool, allow bar and chain to cool.
2. Clean the toothed chain wheel.
3. Place the needle-shaped nozzle of the syringe in the grease hole and inject grease until it appears on the
outside edge of the chain bar wheel (fig. 28).
4. Move the chain by hand. Repeat the above lubrication procedure until the entire chain bar wheel
is lubricated.
The bar should be rotated every 8 hours of operation for even wear. Keep the tire groove and lubrication hole
clean with the cleaning tool (not supplied) (fig. 29).
Regularly inspect the rails for wear, remove burr if necessary, and clean the rails at right angles with a flat file
(fig. 30).
Chain Maintenance
Check the chain tension regularly and adjust it if necessary according to this manual. Check the condition
of the cutting edges of the chain. If the cutting quality deteriorates, sharpen the chain or contact an authorized
service center.
All saw teeth must be the same length (size). Different saw tooth heights cause uneven movement of the
chain, which can break the chain!
The minimum length of the saw teeth is 3 mm. Once the minimum saw tooth length has been reached, the
saw chain should not be sharpened any further and should be replaced with a new chain.
The distance between the depth stop and the cutting edge determines the thickness of the clamp (fig.
31). The sharpening angle of 30° should be the same for all saw teeth. Unequal angles cause uneven chain
movement, increased wear and can break the chain! The saw tooth's front angle of 85° is formed naturally
by the penetration depth of the circular file. If the prescribed file is maintained correctly, the front angle of the
chainsaw's saw teeth will form by itself (fig. 32).
