Connection and starting
LED blinking sequences:
Dynamic loudness function ("DYN LOUD-
NESS / OFF"):
The sensitivity of the human ear is not linear
throughout the whole frequency range. Fur-
thermore this non-linearity is also dependent
on the sound pressure level. The norm ISO
226 describes this in an array of curves
which have been averaged through many
experimental tests. If the DYN LOUDNESS
switch is switched on (left position) the dy-
namic loudness function is enabled after
start-up and compensates this effect prop-
erly.
CROSSOVER functions:
These switches allow adjustment of the up-
per limit of the frequency range that is repro-
duced by the subwoofer.
Four settings can be chosen: 40 Hz, 80 Hz,
120 Hz or 160 Hz.
Signals above this frequency are increasingly
attenuated (filtered) from the subwoofers
output. They are already reproduced by an-
other speaker (satellite).
The best adjustment of this frequency limit
depends on the type of satellite speakers,
their and the subwoofers placement and your
personal listening preferences.
„TREBLE", „BASS":
These 2 switches enable the possibility to
adapt the sound of the speaker to personal
gusto by means of 2 equalizers. The treble,
and the bass may be emphasized by 2 dB
each. As the effects of the 2 switches may be
combined, there are 4 equalization curves
possible (e.g.: TREBLE +2 dB and BASS +2
dB result in a so called "bathtub frequency
response"). The cut-off frequencies of the 2
equalizers are at appr. 80 Hz and 12 kHz.
