Secondary Device Functions (continued)
Alarm Enable
If the parameter is set (TRUE), the actual inclination
(degrees-difference or deviation) is compared with the
value of the alarm threshold. If the inclination is greater
than the threshold value, an event is created and sent.
Alarm Threshold
Threshold value of the inclination deviation for triggering an
event (see Fig. 5-10 on page 70).
Hysteresis taken into account, value is defined at
0° (upward) and −1° (downward).
– Values: 1...180
– Unit: Degrees (°)
– Default_Value: 10°
Alarm Teaching Status
Bit Description
0 Device has not yet been taught-in, no reference
orientation set, inclination value not available.
1 Device has been taught-in, reference orientation
is set, inclination value is available.

Use system command 0xC0 for teaching-in and defining
reference orientation.
The device cannot calculate the inclination until
the reference position has been taught-in.

Bit Description
0 Device is in its taught-in position/orientation.
1 Device is incorrectly oriented, inclination is equal
to or greater than the threshold value.

X-, Y-, Z-coordinate values of the reference position set
(taught-in) by system command 0x0C.

Angle between the taught-in reference orientation and the
actual orientation:

reference orientation.
The device cannot calculate the inclination until
the reference position has been taught-in.

0xC0 (192) Set Reference Orientation – Sets
the reference orientation of the
actual position of the device.
Responses: ACK: command
successful, reference stored.
0x81 (129) Application Reset – Resets the
inclination alarm configuration to the
default value of the firmware.
0x82 (130) Reset Factory Settings – Resets the
inclination alarm configuration to the
default value of the firmware.

This event shows that the device has lost its original
position (taking the threshold value into account). The
mounting of the device should be checked.
