Instructions:
7.) The type of protection changes as follows when the transmitter is connected to certified intrinsically-safe circuits of
Category ib for Equipment Groups IIC and IIB: EEx ib IIC T6 and EEx ib IIB T6.
Do not operate the probe in Zone 0 if the transmitter is connected to an intrinsically-safe circuit of Category Ex ib
7.1 The pertinent guidelines must be observed when intrinsically-safe circuits are connected together acc. DIN EN 60079-14 /
IEC 60079-14 (Proof of Intrinsic Safety) (e.g. when using the Commubox or DXR 275 handheld terminal or other certified
apparatus).
7.2 On installations requiring an overvoltage protector to comply with national regulations or standards (e.g. DIN EN 60079-14 /
IEC 60079-14), the device FMP41C shall be installed using an overvoltage protector (e.g. HAW 262 Z, HAW 562 Z from
Endress+Hauser).
7.3 Overvoltage protector (e.g. HAW 262 Z , see figure 2):
- Connect the external overvoltage protector and the measuring device to the local potential matching system.
- The intrinsically-safe circuit is earthed under field conditions, therefore run a potential matching line along the length of the
cable both inside and outside the explosion-hazardous area.
- The cable connecting the overvoltage protector and the measuring device shall be no longer than 1 m,
- Route cable protected (e.g. in an armoured hose).
