Troubleshooting
If the device does not operate properly, first check the correct connection of the
plug-in power unit and the position of the on/off key.
If the switch-on control lights (13), the malfunction can also be caused by the
connection or an improper function or setting of the accessory units (TV set, video
recorder, cameras). Therefore, check all the cables and all plug connections for their
proper seat first.
Is the TV set/monitor switched on and ready for operation?
Has the correct AV input at the TV or the correct input at the monitor been selec-
ted?
Have the quad processor and the TV set/monitor been connected as described in
the chapter "Connection"?
Has a single camera picture at the input of which a camera is not connected been
called up?
If your quad processor does not respond to the touch of a key, please check if the
key lock is active by pressing the menu key (menu option "Key Lock" On).
If your device does not respond to the touch of a key of the remote control, please
check the batteries in the remote control and replace them if required. If you wish to
dispose of the batteries, please observe the statutory regulations (see page 29).
If these notes do not help to solve the problem, contact our technical
support or another specialist.
Repair works other than described above and any opening of the
parts of the housing or the plug-in power unit may only be carried
out by a specialist.
Pay attention to this note above all to ensure your own health and
safety.

Connection and Startup

First, connect the playback or recording devices. You can operate up to two video
playback or recording devices and one VGA monitor in any combination at this quad
processor.
1.) If you want to record the signals of your video monitoring system, connect the
composite video input (cinch or RCA socket) to the RCA socket (1) of the quad
processor. At this output (1) a quartered picture with all four inputs is reproduced
simultaneously – independent of the operating mode of the quad processor.
2.) Connect the input of your TV monitor to the RCA socket (2) of the quad proces-
sor. Alternatively, you can use a VGA compatible monitor via the 15-pin VGA
connection (3) as a playback device. It is also possible to operate a TV set and a
VGA monitor in parallel.
Also observe the information on the correct connections given in the
operating instructions of your TV set or video recorder. If they are not
provided with a cinch (RCA) input, we recommend an appropriate adapter
for the scart input of your device.

3.) Connect the outputs of your monitor cameras to the inputs 1-4 (6) of your quad
processor. You can also connect other video sources with composite video out-
put signal to these inputs and output them on the connected playback devices.
If you already have a video monitoring system with GPIO plug standard, you can
connect it alternatively to the points 1.) – 3.) also via the GPIO socket (4).
4.) If you have established all the video connections make sure that the quad pro-
cessor is turned off (switch 7 in position OFF). Now, connect the plug-in power
unit with the power supply socket (5) and plug the plug-in power unit into a
230V/50 Hz mains power outlet.
5.) Insert the two micro cells supplied (type AAA, 1.5V) into the remote control. For
this purpose, slide the cover at the bottom to the outside into the direction indi-
cated by the arrows. Make sure that the polarity is correct when inserting the
batteries. It is explained by + and - and by a drawing in the battery compartment.
Please observe the information on the disposal of used batteries at the end of
these operating instructions.
