• Make sure that the sockets and their connections
are protected against flooding and moisture.
• The installation site must have a drain for accumu-
lated water or be elevated so that flooding cannot
occur.
• Ensure that the device, as well as all connectors
and extension cables, are protected from splashing
water.
• Always disconnect all connectors before carrying
out any work on the filter or pump.
• Never submerge the filter in the water.
• When used outside, never use connectors, adapt-
ers, extensions or connecting cables that have not
been approved for outdoor use.
• Never pull or carry the device by the power cable.
Do not allow the power cable to come into contact
with sharp objects or heat.
• Place the cables in such a way that they do not get in
the way and are not susceptible to damage.
• After assembling the set, the connectors of the de-
vices must always be immediately accessible. To
ensure they can be always be disconnected imme-
diately in case of an emergency, they must not be
permanently attached or built into the device.
• Only operate the filter with hoses that are designed
for a pressure of at least 0.3 bar or that match the
maximum pressure of the pump.
• Check and clean the drain to the pond at regular in-
tervals. It should remain free of debris at all times,
otherwise there could be an increase in pressure,
which could cause the pond to leak and run dry.
• All open connections of the hoses must be sealed
with a sealing cap while the filter is operated in "filter
mode".
• Before switching on the filter, ensure that all connec-
tions have been made correctly and that all connec-
tions are tight.
• Never filter liquids other than water!
• In case of frost (or if frost is anticipated), you must
remove the filter and pump and store them in the
manner described later.
• Position the filter in such a way that it is not exposed
to direct sunlight.
• These devices must not be operated by persons (in-
cluding children) with impaired physical, sensory or
mental capabilities, or who have insufficient experi-
ence and/or insufficient knowledge unless they are
being supervised by a person who is responsible for
their safety or they are receiving instruction about
how the devices are to be used.
• Children must be supervised if it is possible for them
to get close to the devices. They must be prevented
from playing with it.
• The device may only be used by persons who are
familiar with the device or who have read and under-
stood this operating manual beforehand.
• The outdoor electrical equipment that you use to op-
erated the device must comply with the applicable
safety regulations.
The term "electric tool" used in the safety instructions
refers to mains-powered electrical tools (with a mains
cable) and battery-powered electrical tools (without a
mains cable).
Warning! This power tool generates an electromag-
netic field during operation. This field can impair active
or passive medical implants under certain conditions.
In order to prevent the risk of serious or deadly injuries,
we recommend that persons with medical implants
consult with their physician and the manufacturer of
the medical implant prior to operating the power tool.

6. Residual risks

The machine has been built according to the state-of-
the-art and the recognised technical safety require-
ments. However, individual residual risks can arise
during operation.
• Health hazard due to electrical power, with the use
of improper electrical connection cables.
• Furthermore, despite all precautions having been
met, some non-obvious residual risks may still re-
main.
• Residual risks can be minimised if the "Safety In-
structions" and the "Intended Use" together with the
operating manual as a whole are observed.
• Avoid accidental starting of the machine: the op-
erating button may not be pressed when inserting
the plug in an outlet. Use the tool attachment that
is recommended in this operating manual. This is
how to ensure that your machine provides optimum
performance.
• Keep your hands away from the working area when
the machine is in operation.
