Description
Standard operating mode (factory setting): Standard operating mode of the sensor with
which the specified datasheet values are fulfilled.
Increased switching frequency: Application: e.g. detection of small objects in fast
processes.
Compared to Standard mode, the double switching frequency of the sensor is
achieved by reducing the multiple evaluation of the switching point. However, this may
increase the susceptibility of the sensor in the application. In addition, in this operating
mode the nominal switching distance of the sensor may be reduced.
Increased precision and repeatability: Application: e.g. for the precise detection of
objects.
The sensor is less affected by external faults than in Standard mode with an increase of
the multiple evaluation of the switching point. The active suppression of interference
pulses increases the switching precision and thus the repeat accuracy in the object
detection. As a result, the maximum possible switching frequency of the sensor is
halved.
Increased range: Application: e.g. for the detection of dark objects or objects at a great
distance.
Dark objects can be detected at a greater distance with a transmitter control optimized
for ranges. The maximum possible switching frequency is halved. Faults from the
application environment are not suppressed as effectively compared to Standard
mode.
Improved transparent detection: Application: For the detection of transparent or semi-
transparent objects.
The detection of transparent objects can be improved by reducing the hysteresis
threshold with a simultaneous reduction of the internal amplification of the receive
signal. The maximum possible switching distance is roughly halved. Faults from the
application environment are not suppressed as effectively compared to Standard
mode.
