5.2 Installation factor
Where installation space is tight, walls have an impact on the ion flow in the liquid. This effect can be
compensated by the installation factor.
Installation factor in the transmitter is set via display, IO-Link or FlexProgram.
The installation factor depends on diameter and conductivity of the pipe
socket as well as the distance from wall to sensor.
In case of sufficient distance to wall (a > 20 mm), the installation factor f
can be ignored (f = 1.00).
In case of inferior wall distance, the installation factor for electrically
insulated pipes is larger (f > 1) respectively smaller (f < 1) for case
electrically conductive pipes.
The installation factor can be identified by calibration solutions or approximately derived from the diagram
below.
