11. Cleaning, maintenance and repair

Cleaning
Clean, disinfect or sterilize sensor as needed
f
(CIP/SIP).
Maintenance
Regular maintenance is not required.

12. Sensor calibration

The sensor has been factory-calibrated at Baumer prior to delivery. As an option, a 5-point conductivity
calibration certificate and/or a 3-point temperature calibration certificate can be ordered to come with the
sensor.
According to the prevailing operating conditions and requirements, the sensor may require regular
recalibration to ensure proper functionality. The relevant intervals for recalibration, if any, must be defined by
the user according to the very individual requirements.
There are different options for sensor calibration:
Sensor calibration at Baumer (return sensor for maintenance)
Sensor calibration with the aid of a reference sensor
Sensor calibration with the aid of a reference medium
Sensor calibration using the Baumer calibration box (dry calibration)
12.1 Sensor calibration with the aid of a reference sensor
In this method, the medium values for conductivity and temperature are measured both by an appropriate
reference sensor and the sensor which is to be calibrated. Deviations in the two measurement results are
saved as offset in the sensor to be calibrated.
NOTICE
This task can be done either using the FlexProgram or via IO-Link (e.g. BSS). The following example shows
