Cleaning the SIMATIC CFU DIQ with aluminum enclosure
You may only use a damp cloth to clean the enclosure, since electrostatic charging may occur when cleaning with a dry
cloth.
Do not expose the enclosure to the direct jet of a pressure cleaner (a maximum direct jet pressure of 3 bar is
permissible).
NOTICE
Replacing sensors/actuators during process operation (AS in RUN)
Interrupt OBs must be configured in the automation system to allow replacement of sensors/actuators during process
operation (implemented in PCS 7 by default).

Modification and decommissioning
The following modifications can be dangerous and void the conformity as well as applicable regulations and standards:
Modification to the configuration
Modification of the arrangement of control cabinets
Modification of the interconnection and selection of electrical components
Mechanical alteration of the control cabinet
Note
Siemens is not responsible and makes no guarantee for modifications to the configuration that was handed over to the
customer.
Only engineers or designers who are familiar with the relevant technologies, regulations and standards are permitted to plan
modifications.
Decommissioning of the products represents a modification.
At least the following points must be taken into consideration when planning modifications:
Parts of the system may have to be isolated to allow work to be performed safely.
Parts of the system may have to be shut down for the modification so that operation can be resumed safely.
Follow the correct order for the modification so that the modification can be carried out safely with regard to electrical
safety, the automation and the system control.
Pay attention to whether safety functions might be affected by the modification (fail-safe functions and SIL functions).
Pay attention to whether explosion-protected systems or hazardous areas are affected (Ex zones).
Functional safety systems (fail-safe functions) and hazardous areas are especially critical parts of modifications. The planner
must apply utmost care.
It may be necessary to fall back on earlier design and development phases of the system (Safety Life Cycle) to safely deal with
the functional aspects of the modification.
