Ambient temperature of the product
If the product is operated in an ambient temperature of more than 50 °C, the temperature of the device enclosure can
exceed 70 °C. For this reason, the product must be installed in such a way that it is only accessible to service technicians or
users who are aware of the reason for the limited access and the required safety measures at ambient temperatures over
50 °C.
WARNING
Ambient temperature in the enclosure and for cables
The product is intended for installation in an enclosure/control cabinet. The operating temperature inside the
enclosure/control cabinet is equivalent to the maximum permissible ambient temperature of the product.
Cables whose maximum permissible operating temperature is at least 30 °C above the maximum permissible ambient
temperature must be used.
WARNING
Safety extra-low voltage
The product must be supplied with safe SELV/PELV-type functional extra-low voltage. The product is designed for operation
with safe electrically-separated functional extra-low voltage (≤ 28.8 V DC) by a power source with limited power (LPS).
Only power supplies that comply with the following are permitted to be connected to the power supply terminals:
• SELV/LPS (power source with limited power), according to IEC 60950-1, UL 60950-1, EN 60950-1 or VDE 0805-1
or
• NEC Class 2 power supply unit for power supply of the product, as described in National Electrical Code (r) (ANSI /
NFPA 70).
If the product is connected to a redundant power supply (two separate power sources), both must meet these
requirements.
NOTICE
Potentials
The freely configurable channels of the product are connected to the potentials of the power supplies (not floating).
The power supply connections are protected against reverse polarity.
For use in hazardous areas, observe the information under "Intended use (Page 19)".
