Cleaning and descaling

The appliance should be cleaned
and descaled regularly to prevent
it from becoming damaged and to
ensure your coffee has the best
possible flavour.
WARNING
Risk of electric shock!
Water that has seeped inside
may cause a short circuit or
electrocution.
■ Never immerse the appli-
ance, mains cord or plug in
water or any other liquids.
■ Switch off the appliance
and pull the mains plug out
of the socket before clean-
ing.
■ Do not put the appliance or
individual parts of the ap-
pliance in a dishwasher.
■ Do not use a steam cleaner
to clean it.

Failure to clean the appliance
can cause damage to health,
as can improper use of ingre-
dients or cleaners and descal-
ing agents.
■ Follow manufacturer in-
structions on cleaners and
descaling agents.
■ Avoid contact with the des-
caler.
■ Do not ingest the descaler.
■ Do not mix the descaler
with other cleaning agents
and descalers or other
chemicals.
■ Wash your hands after us-
ing the descaling agent.
