Safety information

The Sediplus
engineering standards and the recognised safety regulations. Take note of the relevant safety information
and guidelines as well as occupational safety and accident prevention regulations for use in the
laboratory.
Nevertheless, risks for users and third parties as well as damage to the device or other material assets
can still arise during operation.
The device should be used only:
• For the intended purpose.
• In faultless condition in terms of safety.
During the device's warranty period, only the company SARSTEDT AG & Co. KG or persons authorised
by the company SARSTEDT AG & Co. KG may repair the device.
Improper handling or repairs will render any warranty claims void.
• Measurement results must always be checked for plausibility by the operating personnel, the
laboratory management or the attending doctor.
• The general regulatory guidelines and statutory regulations for properly determining blood
sedimentation must be noted and complied with.
The device operates at a voltage of 110-230 V, 50-60 Hz. No water or other liquids may enter the device.
• When connecting the device to the mains power, you may use only the supplied power cords.
• Check to see whether your mains voltage matches the information on the type label. The device
may only be connected to an earthed shockproof socket.
• Check for damage to the connection cable before start-up. Damaged cables may not be used
under any circumstances.
• Check the device for external damage before start-up.
Never work with a damaged device.
• Remove the plug from the socket if the device will not be used for a long period of time or if it needs
to be cleaned.
The S-Sedivettes and the blood samples in the S-Sedivettes must be handled and disposed of in the
proper manner. Note the applicable regulations in your country and follow the safety provisions in your
laboratory.
The device may be operated or complemented only using the accessories described in this manual.
