when testing due to the volume of the alarm. If the smoke alarm does not produce an acoustical

a soft brush and vacuum all sides and covers of the smoke alarm. Do not remove the top cover of
the smoke alarm to clean the inside.
• Do not attempt to repair this smoke alarm. If the smoke alarm exhibits a functional defect,
it must be replaced!
• Troubleshooting: False alarms are often caused by dust or vapours.
14. Dismounting
To disassemble the smoke alarm, take a screwdriver and push it into the mounting hole. Then rotate
the smoke alarm anti-clockwise to remove it from the bracket.

15. Re-use and disposal

Electrical and electronic equipment that has become waste is referred to as WEEE. Owners of
WEEE must dispose of it separately from unsorted municipal waste. In particular, WEEE does
not belong in household waste, but in special collection and return systems.
Owners of WEEE from private households can hand it in free of charge at the collection points of
the public waste management authorities or at the take-back points set up by manufacturers or
distributors as defined by the ElektroG.
The symbol of a crossed-out dustbin regularly displayed on electrical and electronic equipment
indicates that the respective device must be collected separately from unsorted municipal waste at
the end of its service life.
As a rule, owners of WEEE must separate used batteries and accumulators that are not enclosed
in the WEEE, as well as lamps that can be removed from the WEEE without destroying it, from the
WEEE before handing it in at a collection point. This does not apply if WEEE is prepared for re-use
with the participation of a public waste management authority.
The following batteries or accumulators are contained in this electrical appliance:
Sealed battery (3V DC)
