4. OPERATION
Switching the machine on and off and adjusting
the direction of rotation (Fig. A)
The rocker switch is used for activating the machi-
ne and for choosing the direction of rotation.
• Pressing the Forward on / off switch (4) will
activate the machine in forward direction, for
tightening bolts/nuts. Releasing the Forward on
/ off switch (4) will stop the machine.
• Pressing the Reverse on / off switch (5) will
activate the machine in reverse direction, for
loosening bolts/nuts. Releasing the Reverse on
/ off switch (5) will stop the machine.
Only lay down the machine when it has
stopped running completely. Do not place it
on a dusty surface as particles of dust
could get into the mechanism.
Optimum use
• If the screws/nuts are very tight or if they are
rusted, use a appropriate tire wrench to slightly
loosen them first.
• It is strongly advised to use the impact driver
only for loosening screws/nuts. If you wish to
use the impact driver to tighten screws and
nuts, you must also use a torque limiter which
is designed for this purpose. If not, the screw
connection may be damaged. A torque limiter is
available at specialized shops or suppliers. Prior
to tightening, carefully insert the screw/nut into
the threads.
• For specific applications as for example the
automotive sector, it is required to tighten
bolts/nuts to a torque specification. These
are provided by the vehicle manufacturer, for
example in the manual. Always follow these
directions carefully. The torque can be set by
using for example a torque limiter or a torque
wrench (e.g. Vonroc TW501XX).
5. MAINTENANCE
Always disconnect the machine from the
main power supply before carrying out any
maintenance work.
Clean the machine casings regularly with a soft
cloth, preferably after each use. Make sure that the
6
ventilation openings are free of dust and dirt. Re-
move very persistent dirt using a soft cloth moiste-
ned with soapsuds. Do not use any solvents such
as gasoline, alcohol, ammonia, etc. Chemicals such
as these will damage the synthetic components.
ENVIRONMENT
Faulty and/or discarded electrical or
electronic apparatus have to be collected at
the appropriate recycling locations.
Only for EC countries
Do not dispose of power tools into domestic waste.
According to the European Guideline 2012/19/EU
for Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment and its
implementation into national right, power tools that
are no longer usable must be collected separately
and disposed of in an environmentally friendly way.
