the normal measuring mode.
°F/°C key (7) (Fahrenheit degrees/Celsius degrees)
This key allows you to change over between temperatu-
re units °F and °C. The unit you choose is shown in the
LCD (2).
MIN/MAX key (4) (MINIMUM/MAXIMUM readouts)
This key allows to show the minimum (MIN) and the
maximum (MAX) temperature which appeared after the
start of measurement (after the instrument was switched
on). Press the key once to display the MIN readout and
press it twice to display the MAX readout. The hand-ope-
rated thermometer will be switched back automatically
to the normal measuring mode after three seconds.
HI AL key (6) and LO AL key (8) (to set alarm levels)
The hand-operated thermometer DT-300 is equipped
with an alarm function. Two alarm levels may be set. An
alarm is released (by a beeper) when the LO (low) value
is fallen short of or the HI (upper value) is exceeded. The
alarm repeats every minute until the temperature level
again is within the alarm range which is set. However,
only the LO level or the HI level may be set as well.

How to operate

Exchange batteries
Using the hand-operated thermometer DT-300 requires
two miniature cells (of the AAA type). We recommend
the use of alkaline batteries. If batteries are weak or
exhausted a Low-Batt message "
the LCD (2). Exchange the batteries immediately becau-
se otherwise the temperature display could be falsified.
For an exchange of batteries, proceed as follows:
- Loosen the locking screw of the battery compartment
lid (9) at the back of the instrument, using a coin or
suitable screw-driver, and detach the battery com-
partment lid (9).
- Remove the two exhausted batteries from the battery
compartment (10) and replace them with filled batte-
ries of the same type. Always take care of their right
polarity which is imprinted in the battery compart-
ment.
- Place the lid of the battery compartment (10) on the
instrument again. Make sure the rubber ring which
seals the battery compartment is not squeezed and
bears on it uniformly.
- Secure the battery compartment lid again by means
of the locking screw.
