Models RP274, RP278, RP679 – Ovary Protection
Ovary protection is intended to protect the ovaries of the patient against unnecessary
irradiation by the radiation beam when the ovaries are in the properly limited radiation beam
in the antero-posterior projection, for example during radiological examinations of the pelvis.
RP274
Attach the radiation protection on the patient similar to a diaper. Close the hook
and burr fasteners.
RP278
Use the ovarian protection RP278 when taking
X-rays of patients in supine position. Place the
appropriately sized ovarian protection on the
patient. With the help of the two lateral radiolucent
control marks, the size of the ovarian shield can
be precisely adapted to the corresponding pelvis
in a fan-like manner. If the control marks are placed
on the spinae ilicae anteriores in such a way that
the bands form a straight line, the ovarian shield
is adapted to the pelvis according to its position
and size. (Fig. 1)
RP679
Use the ovarian protection RP679 when taking x-rays of standing patients. Attach
the stretch belt with snap buckle to the patient. If necessary, adjust the length
of the belt. Attach the appropriately sized protector via the hook and burr fastener
provided.
Model RP643 – Protective Gonad Apron
Protective gonad aprons are intended to protect the gonads of patients during radiological
examinations of organs other than those located in the area of the lower abdomen, in particular
during radiological examinations of the thorax.
Place the tension strap of the appropriately sized gonad apron around the body so that the body
part to be protected is covered and the protection is not in the imaging area.
If sufficient coverage is not guaranteed or the strap is too loose,
NOTE:
please change the size.
Model RP648 – Patient Cover for CT
The patient cover is intended to protect the sternum, the breast, and the shoulder joints as well
as possibly the thyroid gland against unnecessary irradiation by scattered radiation during CT
examinations.
Place the patient cover over the patient so that the sternum, chest, and shoulder joints are covered
and the protection is not in the imaging area. If possible, fold the thyroid protection into position.
