4.0 Intended Use
Models ST-FS, ST-RZ – Radiation Protective Covers
The radiation protective covers protect the medical staff from scattered radiation emerging from
the patient.
Place the correct cover over the groin of the patient so that it is not in the imaging area.
Use ST-FS for unilateral puncture of the femoral artery and ST-RZ for puncture of the radial artery.
For hygienic reasons, always use the products in combination with the respective

The radiation protection cover serves to protect the examiner from out of the patient
escaping scattered radiation.
WARNING – Cover in Primary X-Ray Beam
The X-ray protection cover must never be placed inside the area of the primary X-ray beam
as this may lead to an increased radiation dose for medical staff, patients and others (fig. 2, 3).

Place the cover over the patient without it being in the image-effective area. By placing the radiation
protection cover as close as possible to the fluoroscopic area, the radiation exposure of the examiner
can be reduced to a minimum.
The X-ray protective cover has been developed for patients lying on the side (Fig. 4) as well as for
patients in the prone or supine position (Fig. 5).
