11. Remove the clevis pin (F) and the retainer spring
(G) from the grass catcher handle (H).

12. Put the grass catcher handle down through the
grass catcher cover and the holes in the grass
catcher frame.
13. Install the clevis pin through the hole at the
bottom of the grass catcher handle.
14. Install the retainer spring into the hole at the end
of the clevis pin until it locks into position.
To adjust the grass catcher brackets
The position of the grass catcher brackets can be
adjusted.
1. Do the steps that follow to adjust the vertical
position of the grass catcher brackets.
a) Loosen the nuts on the carriage bolts (A).
b) Move the adjustment plate (B) up or down.
c) Tighten the nuts fully to lock the adjustment
plate in the new position.
d) Do the same procedure on the opposite side
of the grass catcher.
2. Do the steps that follow to adjust the horizontal
position of the grass catcher.

a) Loosen the nuts on the carriage bolts (C).

b) Move the adjustment plate (D) forward or
rearward until the distance (X) is correct. The
correct distance is approximately 0.2 in. (5.1
mm) between the fender and the top of the
grass catcher.
c) Tighten the nuts fully to lock the adjustment
plate in its new position.
d) Do the same procedure on the opposite side
of the grass catcher.
To install the spring latches for the
grass catcher
The spring latches for the grass catcher are on the
rear plate, 1 at each of the bottom corners.
Note:
If you adjust the vertical position of the
grass catcher, it can be necessary to adjust the
spring latches for the grass catcher.
1. Stop the engine and engage the parking brake.
2. Install each spring latch (A) with the loop end set
to the direction of the grass catcher assembly.

3. Put the bolt (B) through the bend end of the
spring latch, and through the rear plate (C).
4. Attach the bolt with the nut (D).
5. Tighten the nut.
