9. DC connection

This chapter explains the requirements and process for wiring the DC wiring to the unit.
Read carefully before starting the connection process.

9.1. Safety instructions for the DC connection

DANGER
Make sure there is no voltage present on the unit before starting the connection.
Do not switch on the power to the unit until you have successfully made the rest of the connections and the unit
is closed.

While connecting the inverter, make sure of the proper installation of the cables on the unit´s terminals so that
parts of accessible wires do not remain live.
When the PV array is exposed to sunlight the inverter has DC voltage.

Ingeteam accepts no liability for any damages caused by an incorrect connection.

The wiring must be routed inside the unit via a conduit, which is inserted through a coupling in order to
maintain the unit's protection class.

9.2. Wiring requirements for the DC connection

CAUTION
The type of cabling for the connection must have dimensions in line with current regulations in the country of
installation and according to the type of installation and maximum current and voltage of the PV array.

9.2.1. STD Version

The admissible rated current for these units is 185 Adc (maximum of 200 Adc). The admissible section for the DC
cables is 70 mm to 300 mm

spade terminal. The maximum width of the spade must not exceed 40 mm.
The cable conductor material may be copper or aluminum. If the connection of aluminum cables is required, the
installer must provide the necessary means to prevent galvanic coupling (bipolar terminals, bimetallic interfaces,
etc.).

9.2.2. PRO Version

This version accepts up to 24 strings. The unit includes the aerial photovoltaic connectors required for connecting
each string to the unit. The photovoltaic connectors used are Phoenix contact Sunclix PV-C4F-S 2.5-6 (+) and
PV-C4M-S 2.5-6 (-). To perform the connection between the string cables and their corresponding connectors, see
the manufacturer documentation.
The accepted section for the aerial connectors is 2.5 mm
There are several restrictions regarding the dimensioning of the strings connected to the unit:
• Each individual string must not exceed 15 Adc.
