Maintenance work
Checking the functionality of the chain brake
1. Switch the device on.
2. While the device is running, turn your hand on the
front handle so that the hand guard/chain brake le-
ver is pressed towards the guide rail with the back of
your hand.
The chain brake is locked.
The chain must come to a standstill.
3. Pull the hand guard/chain brake lever in the direc-
tion of the handle.
The chain must release.
Adjusting the chain tension
1. Remove the battery pack (see Chapter Removing
the battery pack).
2. Loosen the nuts of the bar cover.

3. Adjust the chain tension with the screw.

4. Check the chain tension.

The distance between the guide rail and the chain
must be ca. 6,5 mm.
5. Tighten the nuts of the bar cover.

Wear protective gloves when working on the chain.
1. Remove the battery pack (see Chapter Removing
the battery pack).
2. Loosen the nuts and remove the bar cover.

3. Remove the guide rail.

4. Dispose of the old chain and, if necessary, the guide
rail properly.
5. Fit the new chain on the guide rail. Observe the di-
rection of rotation of the chain.

6. Place the chain around the sprocket and insert the
guide rail.

7. Fit the bar cover and loosely install the nuts.

8. Adjust the chain tension (see Chapter Adjusting the
chain tension).

Troubleshooting guide

Malfunctions often have simple causes that you can
remedy yourself using the following overview. When in
doubt, or in the case of malfunctions not mentioned
here, please contact your authorised Customer Service.
As the battery pack ages, even if it is looked after, its ca-
pacity reduces such that the full run time will no longer
be reached when fully charged. This does not indicate a
defect.
Rectification
 Charge the battery pack.
 Replace the battery pack.
 Push the battery pack into the mounting
until it latches into place.
 Stop working and allow the battery to cool
down to normal battery temperature.
 Stop working and allow the motor to cool
down.
