INSERTING THE HEARING SYSTEM
Insert your hearing system into your ear so that the tip with the
sound opening points in the direction of the auditory canal.
The color of the type designation (laser engraving) or the color of
the wax guard indicates which is the right hearing system and
which the left:
blue = left
red = right
If you have an Icon hearing system, you will be able to distinguish
the hearing systems for the right and left ears by the white marks
on the hearing system housing:
R = right
L = left
This mark must face upwards when the hearing system is inserted.
Pull your earlobe a little with your free hand, and at the same time
push your hearing system into your ear with the other hand. The
housing, which has been adapted to fit your auditory canal, slides
into the correct position. When removing the hearing system, per-
form the sequence in reverse. If your hearing system has a removal
line, the hearing system can simply be removed from the ear using
this. Your hearing system specialist will be happy to demonstrate
to you how to use your hearing system, if you wish.

mIcroPhone fIlter
The microphone filter provides even more effective protection
from soiling and ensures optimum long-term transmission perfor-
mance.
If your hearing system has a microphone filter, this can be changed
when necessary by your hearing system specialist.
cerumen ProtectIon fIlter (wax guard)
A cerumen protection filter prevents moisture and cerumen (ear-
wax) from penetrating the hearing system. If your hearing system
has this filter, it should be replaced at least every two weeks. Please
use the red filter for the right hearing system (red lettering) and the
blue filter for the left hearing system (blue lettering).
If you experience problems when changing the filter, your hearing
system specialist will be happy to help.
