Installation

Danger due to degraded explosion protection!
After operation in general electrical plant, the devices' explosion protection
may no longer be functional.
Apply marking to devices that are operated in general electrical plant.
Devices that have been operated in general electrical plant are not allowed
to then be operated in potentially explosive atmospheres.
Danger due to insufficient IP protection!
For operation in potentially explosive areas, install Fieldbus Terminator
9418/01 (non-intrinsically safe) in an enclosure with an approved type of
protection or in a cable gland with an approved type of protection.
Only use cable glands with a clamping cross-section of 12 mm.
Danger due to improper bus alternating power!
The Fieldbus Terminator is only allowed to be operated on fieldbuses with a bus
alternating power of max. 320 mW. This condition is met on all buses compliant with
IEC 61158-2, e.g. Profibus PA or Foundation Fieldbus H1.
7.1 Type 9418/01
Installation in cable gland
Route connecting cable for the Fieldbus Terrminator through a cable gland into an
enclosure with an approved type of protection.
Insert Fieldbus Terminator into the cable gland to the stop and tighten cable gland to
the stipulated torque.
Connect connecting cable to the related terminals.
Close enclosure.
Installation in an enclosure with an approved type of protection
Connect connecting cable to the related terminals.
Fasten Fieldbus Terminator in the enclosure.
Close enclosure.
7.2 Type 9418/02
The Fieldbus Terminator, type 9418/02, can be installed without additional
installation measures.
Connect connecting cable to Ex i circuit.

Commissioning

Before commissioning:

Ensure the device is correctly installed.
Check cables for secure seating.
Check cable gland for damage.
Check tightening torque.
