3.3 Conformity to Standards

The Fieldbus Terminator complies with the following directives and standards:

4 Designated Use
The Fieldbus Terminator is used as a bus terminating element for fieldbuses as per
IEC/EN 61158-2.
For use in a potentially explosive atmosphere, the Fieldbus Terminator 9418/01 must be
installed in an enclosure with an approved type of protection or in a specifically certified
cable gland.
The Fieldbus Terminator is only allowed to be operated on fieldbuses with a bus
alternating power of max. 320 mW. This condition is met on all buses compliant with
IEC 61158-2, e.g. Profibus PA or Foundation Fieldbus H1.
The Fieldbus Terminator 9418/02 can be used in intrinsically safe circuits without
additional measures.
The Fieldbus Terminator is approved for use in potentially explosive atmospheres in
zones 1, 2, 21 and 22 and in the safe area.
Only use the device for its intended purpose!
Otherwise, the manufacturer's liability and warranty expire.
The device may only be used under the operating conditions described in these
operating instructions.
The device must only be used in areas subject to explosion hazards according to
these operating instructions.
