If the circuit breaker does not trip:

Check if the fault currents were applied long enough (for low
fault currents).

Check all connections.
Earth pickup stages are tested with single-phase current, the
phase pickup stages with three-phase current.
Make sure that the equipment used for this test can supply the
power that is necessary to trip the circuit breaker.

Final preparation of the device
Re-connect the device with the primary transformers and remove
the short-circuiting links from the transformer circuit. Check the
correct connection of the transformers, e.g. with a current probe.
Firmly tighten all screws. Tighten all terminal screws, including
those that are not used.
Check again the device settings. It is especially important to
check the correct setting of the Mode switches. Settings changes
that are made after power on are not applied at once but only
indicated by a blinking "RUN" LED. The new settings are
activated by pressing the "ENTER" key or by restarting the
device.
The trip indication on the front panel is mechanically reset by
means of the key next to it.
If the current in your application is at least 80% of the rated
current, the green "RUN" must be on. The red "ERROR" LED
must not be lit. With single-phase supply the 7SJ45-devices can
be fully utilized from input currents of 0.8 I
If a test switch is available, it must be in the operating position.
The device is now ready for operation.
