Preparing the wiring harness

Refer to the wiring diagrams (see Section 7).
To connect the wire from the Air Top Evo system to the
standard wiring harness of the master heater:

Remove dummy plug from pin 10 of connector X7.

Pull yellow/blue wire through cable grommet.

Connect yellow-blue wire to pin 10 of connector X7.

Connect yellow-blue wire to pin 2 of connector X9(c).

Installing the system

Prepare wiring harness (see Section 3.2).

Install heaters as described in the installation instructions Air
X X
Top Evo 40 | Air Top Evo 55.
Make electrical connections at the master heater and
slave heater corresponding to the wiring diagram
(see Chapter 7).
Connect the external room temperature sensor to the master

heater.
Connect the control element to the master heater (rotary

switch).
ATTENTION
Before inserting the fuses, all terminals should be
connected. See Chapter 4 Initial start-up
Connect master heater to power supply.

Connect slave heater to power supply.

Connect master wiring harness to master heater.

Connect slave wiring harness to slave heater.

Join master wiring harness and slave wiring harness.

Initial start-up

WARNING
Breathing exhaust fumes in closed rooms
Poisoning and suffocation
Never operate the heater (also not with

programmed heating start) in closed rooms such
as garages or workshops that do not have an
exhaust extraction unit.
Only the terminals specified in Section 3.3 should be
connected during the learning process.
If the sequence specified in the installation
instructions is not followed, resulting in an incorrect
configuration and both heaters will have to be reset
with the aid of Webasto Thermo Test PC Diagnosis,
Version 3.0.
Carry out initial start-up for both heaters:
Both heaters are connected as described in Section 3.3.

Insert fuses and switch on the heaters with the rotary switch

within 2 minutes.
Run the heaters for 10 minutes.
Switch off heaters with the rotary switch.

Wait for the heater afterrunning period to elapse (about 5
minutes).
The learning process is concluded after the afterrunning period
has elapsed.
