to purchase a KaWe product. KaWe infusion racks meet the
requirements of Regulation (EC) 2017/745 (European
Regulation on Medical Devices) and are classified as medical
devices class I.
Please read this manual carefully, adhere to it strictly,
and keep it for future reference if necessary. Before
using the product, carefully study operation rules, especially
care requirements.

KaWe offers two different types of infusion racks:

2. Purpose and intended use

KaWe infusion racks are used for gravity drip infusion of drugs
from bottles and bags both in a hospital setting and at home
(nursing homes, asylum, etc.). They provide effective infusion
of drugs to patients. The version "Infusion rack, weighted" is
also used for installation of infusion pump systems with a
maximum weight of 5 kg.
The maximum load on each harness should not exceed 2 or 3
kg (infusion rack, weighted). The maximum total load of the
safety hook is 8 kg. The weight of the suspended devices must
be evenly distributed to prevent the infusion rack from tilting.
• Target patient groups: patients of all ages and genders who
require drip infusion.
• The products must only be used by authorized specialized
personnel. Patient use is only permitted for the purposes of
movement.
Intended use is the compliance with all instructions in this
application manual as well as basic rules and directives. The
manufacturer does not accept any liability for damage
resulting from any other use.
3. Safety rules/contraindications
• Before each use, please check whether the infusion rack is
operating properly. Do not use the device in case any damage
is detected.
• The infusion rack may only be placed on a flat base. Lock the
locking rollers.
• Unlock the locking rollers to move the rack.
• To ensure stability, the infusion pump devices are to be fixed
to the lower massive support tube so that the center of
gravity is no more than 15 cm away from it.
• The safety hook (4-piece) is only suitable for hanging infusion
bottles or bags.
• Only original spare parts and accessories from KaWe may be
used.
The maximum load on the safety hook of 8 kg must
not be exceeded.
