In this mode, the data-hold and Max/Min-Hold functions do not work.

The supplying voltage above 3 V for setting the reference value and from 0 V up to 19.999 V is limited for testing
a logic.

After performing logic test, you must press set/reset button before rotating the range selector to another range.
Checking Diodes
This function lets you check diodes and other semiconductors for opens and shorts. It also lets you determine the
forward voltage for diodes. You can use this function when you need to match diodes.
Follow these steps to check diodes:

2. To switchover between the functions Ohm, Continuity and Diode, press the Ohm, Cont., Diode button several
times.
3. Plug the black test lead into the COM terminal and the red test lead into the V/Ω terminal.
4. Connect the test lead to the diode to be checked and read the display.
Notes:
-
If you check a diode forward voltage, you will measure voltage of approx. 0,25 V (Germanium) or 0,7 V (Silicium)
if the diode is not defect.

If "OL" is displayed, it means the diode is open or above 2.0 V forward voltage. However, if display shows a value
between 0 V and approx. 2,0 V, it means a forward drop voltage.

The instrument supplies enough forward voltage to light most LED´s. However, if the LED´s forward voltage is
greater than 2,0 V, the instrument incorrectly indicates, that the device is open.

During diode test, the middle secondary display becomes active.
- if diode value is OL, the middle secondary display will show "OPEN"
- if diode value is between 0400,0 mV and 1999,9 mV, the middle secondary display will show "GOOD"
- if diode value is between 0000,0 mV and 0399,9 mV, the middle secondary display will show "SHORT"
7. Using the Windows Software
Follow these steps assume a basic knowledge of Microsoft Windows. Refer to your computer's Windows User's
Guide for information about using Windows. This software requires Microsoft Windows, Version 98 or higher.
1. Start your computer and run windows.
2. Insert the supplied diskette in your computer's drive.
3. Windows Desktop, click "START"-button and select "RUN" menu.
4. At the prompt, type:
a:\setup<ENTER>
5. Follow the on-screen prompt to complete installation.
6. To run the program, double-click the PeakTech
Follow the on-screen help for specific operating instructions.
