Please read these operating instructions carefully
prior to the installation and keep them for later refer-
ence.
1 Applications
The set DVT-420USB serves to create a wireless
video surveillance system. It consists of a wireless
camera and a receiver of compact size which is
directly plugged into the USB port of a computer. The
picture transmission is digital. The supplied software
allows e. g. to view, record and reproduce the camera
pictures. To extend the set to up to four cameras the
camera TVCCD-420USB is available as an accessory.
The camera is accommodated in a weatherproof
housing (IP 66) and is therefore also suitable for out-
door applications. In case the illumination is insuffi-
cient, the camera is switched to black-and-white mode
and the 24 infrared LEDs illuminate a range of up to
10 m approx.
The transmission range depends to a large extent
on local conditions. It may be up to 80 m if there are no
obstacles between camera and receiver. However, the
range is reduced to approx. 30 m in buildings depend-
ing on the condition of the walls and ceilings.
1.1 Conformity and approval
Herewith, MONACOR INTERNATIONAL declare that
the set DVT-420USB and the wireless camera TVCCD-
420USB are in accordance with the basic requirements
and the other relevant regulations of the directive
1999 / 5 /EC. The declaration of conformity is available
on request from MONACOR INTERNATIONAL.
The units operate in the 2.4 GHz range and are
generally approved for operation in EU and EFTA
countries and are licence-free.
2 Safety Notes
The units (camera, receiver and power supply unit)
correspond to all relevant directives of the EU and are
therefore marked with
.
WARNING The power supply unit is supplied with
hazardous mains voltage. Leave servic -
ing of this unit to skilled personnel only.
Inexpert handling or modification may
cause an electric shock hazard.
G
The power supply unit and the receiver are suitable
for indoor use only.
G
Protect the units against excessive temperatures
(admissible ambient temperature range: 0 – 40 °C,
camera: -20 °C to +60 °C), and additionally protect
the power supply unit and the receiver against drip-
ping water and splash water and high air humidity.
G
For cleaning only use a dry, soft cloth, never use
chemicals or water. The camera may also be
cleaned with a cloth slightly damp.

No guarantee claims for the units and no liability for
any resulting personal damage or material damage
will be accepted if the units are used for other pur-
poses than originally intended, if they are not cor-
rectly connected or operated, or not repaired in an
expert way. Likewise, no liability will be accepted for
data loss caused by operating errors or by a defect
and for any consequential damage of this data loss.
If the units are to be put out of operation defin-
itively, take them to a local recycling plant for
a disposal which is not harmful to the environ-
ment.
3 Setting into Operation
Prior to the setting into operation the camera must
be assigned to one of the four camera channels. The
easi est way to do this is as long as the camera is not
yet mounted. Therefore, first perform the steps of
chapters 3.1 and 3.2 and then mount the camera.
3.1 Installing and starting the software
The software is suitable for the following operating
systems: Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7
Windows is a registered trademark of the Microsoft Corporation in
the USA and other countries.
1) Start the file "setup.exe" on the supplied CD and
follow the instructions on the screen.
2) Connect the receiver (7) to a USB port of the com-
puter and place the receiving antenna (8) in a ver-
tical position.
3) Start the program "WUSB Camera".
3.2 Assigning the camera
1) Screw the transmitting antenna (1) onto the jack (2)
of the camera and place it in a vertical position.
2) Connect the power supply unit provided to the
inline jack (5) and to a socket (230 V~ / 50 Hz). As
soon as the operating voltage is supplied to the
camera, it is switched on.
CAUTION When setting up the camera, never look
directly into the lit IR LEDs from a close range. The
infrared light may cause eye irritation. However,
the infrared radiation is far below the emission limit
and rated risk-free according to EN 62471.
3) In the window of the program "WUSB Camera" click
the symbol
window "Match Setting" will open.
4) In this window click one of the buttons "Camera 1 – 4"
to select the camera channel intended to be
assigned to the camera.
5) Press the pushbutton for momentary action (6) of
the camera within 10 seconds. (In the window
"Match Setting" below, the number behind "Match-
ing" shows the remaining time in seconds.) Thus,
the camera is assigned to the selected channel and
the camera picture appears on the screen.

3.3 Mounting the camera
1) Mount the camera to the desired place. For this
purpose screw the supplied camera support into
the threaded jack (3) on the lower side.
2) Connect the power supply unit again and align the
camera to the surveillance zone.
Important! The pushbutton for momentary action
(6), the inline jack (5) for the power supply unit and
the cable distributor (4) are not weatherproof. In
case of outside connection they must be protected
accordingly.
3) The receiver is able to receive the signals of up to
four cameras. For this purpose repeat the steps of
chapters 3.2 and 3.3 for each further camera.
3.4 Operation
After setting into operation it is possible to view and
record the camera pictures and to replay the record-
ings with the program "WUSB Camera". In addition,
many further functions are possible, e. g. time-con-
trolled recordings, recordings activated by motion
detection (sensor fields can freely be defined), single
picture recordings, alarm messages, webserver func-
tions. For information see the file "Manual.pdf" on the
supplied CD.
