4.6 Fastening the BML-S1G0-... sensor head in
the BAM GM-ML-01-C04 slide
1. Position the slide on the end of the rail.
2. Place the supplied clearance gauge in the slide on the
magnetic tape.
3. Connect the cable to the sensor head using the con-
nector and tighten the connector.
4. Place the sensor head in the slide so that the cable is
on the opposite side of the ball head.
5. Slightly tighten the sensor head using the supplied
screws (Fig. 4-13).
6. From the top, slightly press the sensor head on the
clearance gauge and tighten the mounting screws
(torque for M4x20-8.8 cylinder screws acc. to DIN 912:
max. 2 Nm). The correct distance between the sensor
head and magnetic tape is now set (Fig. 4-14,
Fig. 4-15).
Securing the screws
Secure the screws using screw lock lacquer.
7. Use a slider to move the slide out of the rail and
remove the clearance gauge.
8. Move the slide back in the rail and check whether the
slide easily travels over the entire rail.
NOTICE!
Deterioration
In operation, the gap between the sensor head and
magnetic tape can change. This can cause the material
to deteriorate.
f After a maximum of 5,000 km travel, check the gap
and reset the distance if deviating.
