In the case of shaft covers with ventilation openings the
intake guide for the dirt bucket is hung in the frame of the
cover. The dirt bucket is then inserted into the guide, which
has a fine-mesh sieve for retaining fine particles.
The shaft cover is installed as follows:
1. Create the bedding for the cover frame or the concrete
adjustment ring. The bed must be even, free of stones and
have sufficient load-bearing capacity. The bedding can be
made up of material that can be compacted, is loose (sand,
gravel or sandy gravel) or broken material with a maximum
grain size of 16 mm, which is compacted in equal layers in a
Proctor density of at least 97%.
2. Position and align the frame or adjustment ring.
3. Hang the intake guide for the dirt bucket on the frame.
4. Insert the dirt bucket into the guide.
5. Insert the cover into the frame.
6. Completion of the road surface or filling the excavation
pit up to ground level.
