STARTING UP

REMOVING ISO-STRIPS

The batteries are already inserted on delivery and, for protection against premature
discharge, are provided with an iso-strip.
In order to start up the scale, you must remove the iso-strip.
The battery compartment is located on the underside of the device.
− Pull out the iso-strip that is sticking out of the battery compartment. It is normally not
necessary to open the battery compartment in order to do this.

CHANGING THE BATTERY

Four 1.5 V R/LR03 (AAA) type batteries are required to use this product.
1. Press the locking tab slightly towards the centre of the scale and remove the battery
compartment cover.
2. Insert the batteries as indicated at the bottom of the battery compartment. Pay
attention to the correct polarity (+/-).
3. Replace the battery compartment cover. The locking tab must snap securely into place.
Suggestions for changing the battery:
‚ The batteries need to be changed when "Lo" or nothing is shown on the
display.
‚ Only use the type of battery that is specified in the "Technical data".
‚ Always change all batteries at the same time.
‚ Dispose of old batteries in an environmentally appropriate way
(see "Disposal").

CONNECTING THE MAINS ADAPTER

The scale can also be operated with a mains adaptor instead of batteries. To order a mains
adaptor for a fee, get in touch with the retailer where the scale was purchased, or write an
e-mail to: kundendienst@ade-germany.de.
1. Insert the thin plug into the 6 V/DC connection socket on the back of the scale.
2. Plug the mains adaptor into a socket.
Pay attention to the following:
‚ When operating the scale with a mains adaptor, remove the batteries. This prevents
the batteries from leaking or running out.
‚ Only use an original mains adaptor, which is available through the aforementioned
service address. Do not use a different one.
