Colour Camera
GB
Please read these operating instructions carefully prior
to operating the camera and keep them for later use.
1 Applications
This colour camera in a dome housing is especially
designed for use in video surveillance systems
(CCTV). It is equipped with a variable focus lens and
has an automatic gain control (AGC), an automatic
electronic shutter, an iris control, and an automatic
white balance.
2 Safety Notes
The camera corresponds to all required directives of
the EU and is therefore marked with
The camera is only suitable for indoor use. Protect it
against dripping water and splash water, high air
humidity, and heat (admissible ambient temperature
range 0 – 40 °C).
Do not touch the lenses of the lens assembly with
your fingers, protect them against dust and other
impurities, and only use specific cleaning agents for
optical lenses for cleaning.
For cleaning the housing only use a dry, soft cloth,
never use chemicals or water.
No guarantee claims for the camera and no liability
for any resulting personal damage or material dam-
age will be accepted if the camera is used for other
purposes than originally intended, if it is not correct-
ly installed, or not repaired in an expert way.
If the camera is to be put out of operation
definitively, take it to a local recycling plant for
a disposal which is not harmful to the envi-
ronment.

3 Operation
3.1 Mounting
1) To open the housing, turn the dome (2) counter-
clockwise up to the stop, as indicated in fig. 1, and
then remove it from the base (1) in downward direc-
tion.
2) Slightly release the two screws (8) in the base
marked with arrows so that the camera can be
turned in the base and the mounting holes can
easier be accessed.
3) Tightly screw the housing base (1) via its mounting
holes to the ceiling or to a wall.
3.2 Electrical connection
1) Connect the BNC inline jack (3) via a 75 Ω coaxial
.
cable to the video input of the monitor. Pay atten-
tion to the correct 75 Ω termination at the monitor or
in case of series connection at the last monitor.
With a cable length of more than 100 m, a video
amplifier should be inserted between the camera
and the long cable to compensate the signal
attenuation caused by the cable resistance.
2) Connect a regulated power supply unit with an out-
put voltage of 12 V
rating of 150 mA (e. g. PS-12CCD or PS-500ST
from MONACOR) to the power supply inline jack
(4). For the connection a plug with the dimensions
5.5/2.1 mm (outside/inside Ø) is required. The
positive pole must be at the inside contact.
3.3 Aligning the camera, adjusting the lens
1) After applying the operating voltage, the camera is
ready for operation. Switch on the monitor and
adjust the camera to the surveillance zone. To in-
cline the camera, slightly release the two screws (7)
opposite each other. When inclining and turning the
camera, pay attention that the cables will not be
stretched. After aligning, retighten the screws
(7 and 8).

2) Adjust the desired focal length with the zoom ad-
justing ring (6): Release the knurled screw of the
ring and turn the ring. The focal length can be ad-
justed continuously between wide angle (W) and
tele (T). Retighten the screw after the adjustment to
secure the ring against displacement.
3) With the focus adjusting ring (5) adjust a clear pic-
ture: Release the knurled screw of the ring and turn
the ring until the picture is clear. Retighten the
screw after the adjustment.
After all adjustments have been made, place the cover
on the base again. Pay attention that the camera can
look through the open part of the cover. Then place the
dome on the base so that the three latches of the
dome engage into the corresponding cutouts in the
base. Lock the dome by turning it clockwise.
