6. COMPATIBILITY WITH EXISTING SYSTEMS
The TEUFELBERGER SKC EVO System is the successor product of the TEUFELBERGER SKC Block (Art.
7331949 and 7331951), SKC Block KIT (Art. 7331947) and SKC Kit Plus (Art. 7333803). If you are using
TEUFELBERGER wire rope systems with the listed equipment, you can update your systems. There is also a
RETRO-FIT package.
The following requirements must be met:
• The existing system is in a safe operating condition and has been inspected by a competent person.
• The inspection reports are available and are in good order.
• There is static proof for the upper fastening point.
Load bearing capacity of the substructure:
There must be proof of the load-bearing capacity of the substructure.
Then the max. permissible number of persons in the system can be determined using Table 7.
RETRO-FIT packages:
The RETRO-FIT packages ensure that the existing systems are brought back up to the state of the art and that
they are made compatible with the new TEUFELBERGER SKC EVO fall arrester. Furthermore, the performance
limits of the system are extended (max. user weight 140 kg instead of 100 kg, max. number of users up to 3 per-
sons instead of only 1 person).

The clear fall space is the minimum distance below which must be consid-
ered to avoid collision with the structure, the ground or any obstacles in the
line of fall.
Within this range, it is not ensured that the user will be safely caught and
may lead to injuries.
