you push the button ( ) once in standby mode,
the backlight for the buttons ( ) for ear measure-
ment and ( ) for forehead measurement will
appear for approx. 15 seconds.
If the thermometer is switched off and
you push the button ( ), the backlight
of the LCD display will illuminate for
approx. 10 seconds and the backlight
for the buttons ( ) for forehead mea-
surement and ( ) for ear measurement
will illuminate for approx. 15 seconds.

Energy-saving mode

By default, the thermometer is configured to
switch to standby mode approx. 30 – -60 sec-
onds after the last button activity depending
on the respective mode (time, date and room
temperature are shown in alternation). If you
would like the thermometer to turn off com-
pletely after approx. 1 minute, follow the steps
below:
1. In standby mode, hold the SET button
down for approx. 2 seconds until the 24 hr in-
dicator starts to blink on the LCD display
2. Then push the SET button 6 more times
until the LCD indicator briefly appears on
the LCD display and until the ON indicator
flashes right afterwards.
3. If you now push the MEM button
OFF indicator will start to blink on the LCD
display.
