4. Connect TrigOut[18] of master to TrigIn[2]
of slave(s)
5. Set desired phase on slaved generators
6. Generate a trigger pulse from the master in
order to synchronize all. This can be a trigger
pulse into terminal TrigIn[2], of the master
or a pulse generated by pushing button Pulse
or a trigger pulse via an interface.

As soon as the master receives a trigger signal it will forward this
signal to the slave(s). With synchronisation established all
generators will operate in phase-lock. Of course, if the signal
frequency is to be changed synchronization will have to be
Slave
renewed.
Please note that all adjustments for synchronization
will not be stored, so, after switching off, they will
be lost. The internal oscillator of the master determines the
frequency stability of all the generators.
STOP
In sync master and slave(s) are phase-locked. After the
Slave
master was triggered it takes some time for the slaves
to react and get started, hence there will be a time delay
depending on the frequency and the propagation time
of the trigger signal resulting in a fixed delay between
STOP
the output signals of the master and those of the slaves.
At high frequencies there will also be a delay between
the individual slaves. In the MAIN MENU 2 there is
provision to correct for such delays going to (Phi). The
following tables summarizes approximate values for
the phase difference:

5.32 Sweep menu

Look for all necessary parameters in the menu "SWEEP PARA-
METERS". The sweep mode complements the standard operating
modes of the HM 8131-2. The mode, however, allows only free
running or triggered operation.
The sweep mode does not allow gated operation.
