23 Safety Information for Lawn Scarifiers
h) Be particularly careful when turning the machine around
or pulling it towards you.
i) Stop the tines when the machine needs to be tilted for
transportation over surfaces other than grass and when
moving the machine from and to the area to be scarified.
j) Never use the machine with damaged safety devices or
protective grilles or without attached safety devices, e.g.
deflectors and/or grass collection units.
k) Start the motor carefully, in accordance with the operating
instructions, and keep your feet a safe distance from the
tines.
l) Keep the electric and extension cables away from the
tines.
m)The machine must not be tilted when starting the motor,
unless the machine needs to be lifted for the process. In
this case, only tilt it as far as is absolutely necessary and
only raise the side facing away from the user. Always
make sure that both hands are in the working position
before returning the machine to the ground.

Always keep away from the discharge opening.

stop:

– before removing blockages, including those in the
discharge chute;
– before checking, cleaning or working on the machine;
– after coming into contact with a foreign object. Inspect
the machine for damage and perform the necessary
repairs before re-starting and using it.
If the machine begins to vibrate excessively, it must be

e) Ensure when adjusting the machine that your fingers do
not become pinched between moving tine attachments
and stationary parts of the machine.
f) Allow the motor to cool down before storing the machine
for extended periods.
g) Note when maintaining the tine attachments that they can
be moved even if the drive is switched off.
h) In the interests of safety, replace all worn or damaged
parts. Only use genuine spare parts and accessories.
i) If the machine is stopped for maintenance, inspection or
storage, or to replace an accessory part, the drive must be
switched off, the machine must be unplugged from the
mains and it must be ensured that all moving parts have
come to a complete stop. Allow the machine to cool down
before conducting inspections, making settings, etc.
Handle the machine with care and keep it clean.
