If you have a widescreen TV, set this to16:9, otherwise set it to
4:3.
If you have an RGB-compatible TV, choose the RGB setting to
give a better quality picture.
If you have an S-Video TV, choose S-Video.
If neither of the above apply, choose CVBS.
Note: unless your VCR is S-Video-compatible, do not choose
S-Video, as that will result in black and white recordings.
If this is set on, your TV should switch automatically to show
digital channels from your set-top box on the TV screen,
whenever your set-top box is on. You may prefer to use your
TV's remote control to select the appropriate AV channel on
your TV (in which case, set off).
The setting off means that normal audio goes to the digital
audio connector and to the SCARTs unless you then use the
Audio option screen to select Dolby Digital audio. (In that
case, Dolby Digital audio will go to the digital audio connector
and there will be no audio at all at the SCARTs).
The setting on means that, if Dolby Digital audio is being
transmitted, this will automatically be sent to the digital audio
connector and there will be no audio at all at the SCARTs. This
will remain the case unless you use the Audio option screen
to select a normal audio stream for that programme, in which
case normal audio will go to all connectors. If Dolby Digital
audio is not being transmitted when Auto-handling is on,
normal audio will go to all connectors.
You should select Dolby Digital audio only if you have
connected suitable audio equipment to the DIGITAL AUDIO
OUT connector.
Choose the list relevant to your location. If you wish to reset
the list, press the red button. This will reset your User lists
too.
This is the local time for the country where you live. You must
alter this twice a year to take account of winter- and summer-
time.
If this is set to Yes, your User lists will be reset to the pre-
programmed channels when you carry out a Full network
scan (see page 26), but not when you do a Premiere
network scan.
This is the length of time the Information banner stays on the
screen when you change channel or press the Info button.
Note: if you set None, the banner will never appear, so you
cannot display the Now/Next banner.
