PREMIERE PARENTAL CONTROL

Premiere takes parental control very
seriously. By entering a PiN-code, you can
watch locked programmes throughout the day
without being negligent about parental control.
For unlocking, it is necessary to have a legally
prescribed designation, defined by the FSK
(Freiwillige Selstkontrolle – Voluntary Self-
regulation), acting for state youth-authorities.
To unlock a locked programme you must enter
a 4-digit PIN-code. You get your PIN-code
along with your smartcard.
LOCKED PROGRAMMES
If a programme is locked, it has a key symbol
on the Information banner.
The following message appears on the screen:

Note that locking occurs on a programme-by-
programme basis. It is not the channel that is
locked (although some channels may transmit
only locked programmes).
Parental control PIN-code
A Premiere parental control PIN-code is
supplied with your smartcard. You will need
this to unlock the programme so that you can
watch it.
We recommend that you change this PIN-
code to one you will easily remember but be
able to keep secret; see page 21.

Unlocking a locked programme
Press the yellow button on your remote
control.
Use the number buttons on your remote
control to enter the four digits of your PIN-
code (stars will appear instead of the
numbers).
If you make a mistake while entering your PIN-
code, press the button to delete one or
more digits.
When you have entered all four digits
correctly, press OK.
The programme should now appear on the
screen so that you can see and hear it.
Note: Take care while entering your PIN-code.
If you enter it incorrectly 3 times, access to the
locked channel will be blocked for 10 minutes.
IMPORTANT: the programme will remain
unlocked even if you change channel and then
go back again to your unlocked programme.
Relocking unlocked programmes
To relock any programmes you have

unlocked, press the button on your remote
control to put your set-top box into standby,
S
then press again to bring it out of standby.
The programmes are then relocked.
