3 Operation

3.1 Preparing for operation

Observe the safety instructions in Chapter 2!
The initial startup of the machine may be carried
out only by qualified personnel!
A visual inspection must be carried out before
starting up the machine.
Particular attention should be paid to damaged
or loose components, wearing and filling levels.
The surface to be treated and the tools must

always be compatible with each other. If there
are any questions concerning the suitable tools
and processes, please contact the
manufacturer.
Some surfaces have to be treated when wet.
1.
Pull the power plug [12] from the socket.
2.
Check the surface to be ground and remove any
protruding objects.
3.
Check tools for function and condition and
replace with new/other ones if necessary
(! Chapter4.2, page 19).
4.
Either (dry treatment):
Mount an SDC 120 vacuum to the machine
(! Chapter 3.1.2, page 17).
or otherwise:
Connect an external dust extractor to the
suction hose [21] to the port for dust
extraction [19].
Risk of damage due to excessive extraction
capacity!
The manufacturer strongly recommends only
using Schwamborn extractors.
or (wet treatment):
a.
Attaching the tank
(! Chapter 3.1.1, page 17).
b.
Check the water level in the tank and refill
if necessary.
5.
Hold the handle [3].
6.
Pull the release lever [5]
The guide bar [13] is unlocked.

7.
Swivel the guide bar into the desired position.
Operation is done by the handle at hip height.
8.
Release the release lever.
The guide bar is locked.

9.
Attach the tool (! Chapter 4.2, page 19) and
place it on the surface to be treated.
10. Check the safety equipment for completeness
and function before starting up!
The power socket serving as the electric supply
should be installed and provided with mains
current according to local regulations!
11. Plug the power plug [12] of the connecting cable
(extension cable) in a proper power socket.
The machine is ready for operation.

3.1.1 Attaching the tank (optional)

1.
Swivel and lock the guide bar [13] into vertical
position (! Chapter 3.1, page 17).
2.
Loosen the upper device holder [22, Fig. C] and
slide it up.
3.
Hook the valve chain [7] to the watering
lever [6].
4.
Insert the tank [9] into the lower device
holder [10].
5.
Slide the upper device holder down into the
corresponding recess of the tank and clamp it
tight.
6.
Push the water hose [14] (included) onto the
hose connections.
7.
Fill the tank with water.
8.
Press the watering lever [6].
Water flows out of the tank.

3.1.2 Attaching the vacuum (optional)

1.
Swivel and lock the guide bar [13] into vertical
position (! Chapter 3.1, page 17).
2.
Loosen the upper device holder [22] and slide it
up.
3.
Insert the holding basket [23] into the lower
device holder [10].
4.
Slide the upper device holder down into the
corresponding recess of the holding basket and
clamp it tight.
5.
Insert the SDC 120 vacuum [20] into the holding
basket.
6.
Insert the suction hose [21] into the hose
connector [24].
7.
Plug the vacuum's power plug into the power
socket [19].
When the vacuum is not used, the hose
connection [24] needs to be closed by the cover.
