Detection protection
The cooking zone only reacts if a suitable pan is placed on it. If there is just a
spoon or a fork on the cooking zone, the cooking zone does not switch on.
The displays of cooking settings continue to flash.
Ventilation protection
The electronics have to be cooled. Cool air is drawn in behind the kitchen
cupboard and blown out again under the hob. The appliance is only able to
function, therefore, if sufficient air can circulate.
When there is insufficient air circulation, the appliance switches itself off after a
short time.

Overheating protection
The appliance may become overheated if:
the pan does not conduct the heat adequately;

■ fat or oil is heated at a high setting;
there is insufficient circulation of air (see also ventilation protection).

In the event of overheating the result will be that the cooking zone in question
or all the cooking zones will display one of the following reactions:
the hob will reduce the power supplied slightly (this is not visible in the

cooking settings in the displays);
