Surveillance Camera
GB
Please read these operating instructions carefully
prior to installation and keep them for later refer-
ence.
1 Applications
This high-resolution colour camera is especially designed
for use in video surveillance systems (CCTV). It is
equipped with an automatic day/night switching, backlight
compensation, mirror-inverted image display, iris control,
motion detection and masking function to cover or con-
ceal image areas not to be monitored.
2 Important Notes
The camera corresponds to all relevant directives of the
EU and is therefore marked with
.
G
The camera is suitable for indoor use only. For outside
mounting it must be placed into a weatherproof protec-
tion housing.
G
Protect the camera against dust, humidity and heat
(admissible ambient temperature range 0 – 40 °C).
G
For cleaning only use a dry, soft cloth, never use chem-
icals or water.
G
No guarantee claims for the camera and no liability for
any resulting personal damage or material damage will
be accepted if the camera is used for other purposes
than originally intended, if it is not correctly mounted or
not repaired in an expert way.
If the camera is to be put out of operation defin-
itively, take it to a local recycling plant for dis-
posal which is not harmful to the environment.
3 Lens
It is possible to use a lens with DC voltage-controlled iris
(DC lens) or a lens with video signal-controlled iris adjust-
ment or manual iris adjustment.
CAUTION! Protect the CCD image sensor chip
and the lenses of the lens assembly against
dust and impurities and never touch them with
your fingers.
1) Remove the protective cover.
2) When using a C-mount lens, first screw the C-mount
adapter ring provided onto the threaded ring (2) and
the lens on top. When using a CS-mount lens, directly
screw the lens onto the threaded ring.

When using a lens with DC voltage-controlled iris or
video signal-controlled iris, connect this lens to the
camera via the jack IRIS JACK (5). If required, use the
plug provided. Set the switch (8) to the corresponding
position (DC / VIDEO). The jack has the following pin

4 Installation
1) To find the optimum place of mounting, a test run
should be made. Then fasten the camera via the
6.35 mm (
1
) thread of the base (3). For suspended
"

mounting, the base can alternatively be screwed at the
two holes (1) on the upper side of the camera.
2) Connect the BNC jack VIDEO OUT (11) to the video
input of a monitor. With a cable length of more than
100 m a video amplifier should be inserted between
camera and cable to compensate level loss.
3) Connect a regulated 12 V power supply unit with a
permanent rating of 150 mA to the two terminals
"DC 12 V IN" (6). Please observe the correct polarity.
After applying the operating voltage the camera is
switched on and the LED POWER (7) lights up.
4) Switch on the monitor connected and align the camera
by means of the monitor picture. Adjust the focus at the
lens. For a lens with manually adjustable iris, adjust
this iris to optimum picture display (depth of focus and
brightness). If the adjustment of the focus is correct
and the picture is not clear, readjust the mechanical
focus setting for the lens. For this purpose, release the
hexagon socket screws (4) with the hexagon socket
screw key provided. By turning the threaded ring (2)
adjust a clear picture. Then retighten the screws.
