2 Safety Notes
The units (camera, motor, remote control) correspond
to the directive for electromagnetic compatibility
89/336/EEC.
The units are suitable for indoor use only. Protect
them against humidity and heat (admissible ambient
temperature range -10 °C to +50 °C).
For cleaning only use a dry, soft cloth, by no means
chemicals or water.
If the units are used for other purposes than orig-
inally intended, if they are not correctly installed or
operated or not repaired in an expert way, no liabili-
ty for any damage will be accepted.
If the units are to be put out of operation definitively,
take them to a local recycling plant for a disposal
which is not harmful to the environment.
3 Applications
This B/W camera with automatic electronic shutter
and automatic gain control (AGC) has been specially
designed for video surveillance. To be able to monitor
a large area, camera panning can be made automati-
cally via the motor (autopan mode) or manually via the
remote control (manual panning). A wall mounting
bracket is supplied with the unit.
4 Setting into Operation
4.1 Mounting
To determine the optimum camera position, a trial run
should be performed prior to mounting.
1) Fasten the supplied wall mounting bracket (11) with
screws at a suitable location.
2) Screw the panning motor (10) on the wall mounting
bracket (also see fig. 2).
3) Screw the camera (4) on the threaded bolt (5) of the
motor axle and lock it with the knurled nut (6).

4.2 Connection
1) Connect the plug of the camera to the jack CAME-
RA (8) of the panning motor.
2) Connect the mini DIN plug of the supplied 18 m
connection cable to the jack MONITOR (9) of the
motor.
3) Connect the three plugs of the connection cable as
follows:
yellow plug VIDEO
connect it directly to the video input of a surveil-
lance monitor or – when using several cameras
– connect it to the corresponding camera input
of a multiplexer or camera switcher
black inline jack
for connecting the supplied remote control
red plug
for connecting a 12 V power supply unit suitable
for a permanent load of at least 300 mA (e. g.
MONACOR PS-128A):
For connection, a low voltage plug 5.5/2.1 mm
(outside/inside diameter) is required. Observe
the correct polarity in any case: the positive pole
must be at the inner contact of the plug.
4.3 Adjusting the camera
As soon as the 12 V operating voltage has been
applied, the camera is ready for operation and the
motor will turn the camera to the centre of the panning
range if the camera is not in this position.
1) After the motor has turned the camera to the centre
of the panning range, slighly release the knurled
nut (6) and turn the camera in such a way that the
rear side of the camera is situated above the jack
CAMERA (8) and the connection cable of the
camera is not extended. Lock the camera again
with the knurled nut.
2) Slightly release the mounting screw (12) for the
motor and turn the motor together with the camera
in such a way that the camera points to the centre of
the desired panning range. Tighten the screw again.
3) Release the setscrew (7) and adjust the camera tilt.
Tighten the screw again.

5 Operation
5.1 Manual panning
After applying the operating voltage, the autopan
mode is switched off. Nevertheless, the motor will first
turn the camera to the centre of the panning range if
the camera is not in this position.
1) Use the button "Angle/Left" (1) for panning the
camera to the left as desired or use the button
"Speed/Right" (2) for panning it to the right.
2) The panning speed and the possible panning angle
can be changed while the autopan mode is switch-
ed on.
5.2 Autopan mode
1) Switch on the autopan mode with the button "Auto/
Manual" (3).
2) Use the button "Speed/Right" (2) to select between
low and high panning speed.
3) Use the button "Angle/Left" (1) to select the pann-
ing angle: 90°, 180°, or 270°.
4) To switch off the autopan mode, actuate the button
"Auto/Manual" once again.
Note: Even if the operating voltage is switched off, the
selected panning speed and the selected panning
angle remain stored.
