2. Appliance description
2.3 Function description
In order for the pressure cooker to seal in air and
steam, pressure is created inside the appliance
whilst cooking which is considerably higher than
average air pressure.
The increased pressure inside the pressure cooker
means that the temperature is able to exceed
100 °C. The increased temperature cooks your
food quickly and gently.
Both the base and the lid have been
manufactured from high-quality stainless steel.
The extra strong GSW thermo-base ensures
optimal and even heat distribution and retention.
The pan comes with a pressure regulator in the
lid which keeps the desired pressure setting
constant.
2.4 Safety devices
Several safety systems ensure that your
appliance will function safely, even in the event of
a technical fault.
The pressure regulator 8 ensures the pressure
remains constant within the pressure cooker. It is
possible that some steam may continuously
escape during use.
In the pressure regulator 8 there is an additional
pressure control valve that releases the excess
pressure via the safety opening 9 if the pressure
regulator malfunctions.
The lid handle 4 will only flip upwards to open
the pan when the pressure has been equalised
and the red safety valve 3 drops down as a
result.
Should both the pressure regulator 8 and the
pressure control valve malfunction, the excess
pressure can also escape via the safety valve 3.
