5. Unpacking and assembling
1. Take the individual parts of the appliance out
of the packaging.
2. Dispose of all the packaging.
3. Check that the appliance is not damaged in
any way.
4. Remove any labels which may be on the
appliance.
6.1 Preparing the pressure cooker
Warning!
Before cooking with the pressure
cooker, you should check all the safety
functions
to
damage to the appliance.
1. Check that the openings for the pressure
regulator 8 on the inside of the lid are clean.
2. Should this not be the case, clean the
pressure regulator 8 (see "7.2 Cleaning the
pressure cooker" on page 24).
3. Check that the safety valve 3 is loose and is
not stuck.
4. Check that the sealing ring 6 is not damaged
in any way, i.e. that it is not split.
Please note: Over time the sealing ring
can become hard and will therefore no
longer provide an air-tight seal. This will lead
to steam escaping from the rim of the lid and
the sealing ring will therefore require
replacing. A new sealing ring can be
purchased in a specialist shop.
5. Fill the base with food.
