The operating modes:
When running, the device can indicate three different operating
modes:
1. The „Charge" LED („Laden") lights up: Charging.
2. The „Charge" („Laden") and „Done" („Fertig") LEDs light up: Trickle
charging.
3. The „Desulphation" („Entsulfatierung") and „Done" („Fertig") LEDs
light up: Maintenance (desulphation).
The faults:
When running, the device can indicate three different fault conditions:
1. The „Charge" („Laden") and „Fault" („Defekt") LEDs flash:
The measured battery voltage is above 14.3V.
2. The „Done" („Fertig") and „Fault" („Defekt") LEDs flash:
The battery is found to be defective after the charging procedure.
3. The „Fault" („Defekt") LED lights continuously:

Note N1: A deeply discharged 12 V battery is always charged with a
current no greater than 0.3A.
Note N2: If a maintenance operation (desulphation) takes less than
15 minutes, it can be assumed that the battery is faulty and that it has
a high internal resistance.
Note N3: If the age-dependent leakage current is greater than
100 mA, or if the battery is connected to a load (such as the vehicle's
electronic system) that draws more than 100mA, the end-of-charge
condition is never reached, and the charger will remain in charging
mode „forever"!
